Bauman Chiropractic Hay Bales for Charity
For many years, people who drove by Bauman Chiropractic would see a hay bale decorated to commemorate the time of year, a holiday or a local event. Over time, this tradition became a sort of local attraction to the point where people call the office to ask what the big hay bale is going to be next. Dr. Reid Bauman decided to turn this bit of local celebrity into an opportunity to help those less fortunate.
In 2007, Bauman Chiropractic started Hay Bales for Charity. Several times a year, we sponsor a competition in which we provide faux hay bales for local businesses to decorate in recognition of a local event. The hay bales are proudly displayed around town in front of their respective sponsors. People then make donations as a way of voting for their favorite hay bale. The business with the most “votes” at the end of the specified time wins the total amount of money raised to give to the charity of their choice.
The first Hay Bales competition featured hay bales in the form of fun prehistoric beasts and brought attention to the dinosaur exhibit at the Junior Museum of Bay County. The Hay Bales for Charity event has turned into a fun, feel-good way to bring attention to local businesses and help others at the same time.
If you would like to sponsor a Hay Bale in our next charity competition, please contact us at 850-785-8311. At this time, we must limit entries to 10 businesses per event, so call today!
